Presentation Details:This presentation will talk about the RUCore, the Rutgers digital repository, which will debut for faculty participation this fall. The talk will provide a development timeline and an overview of what faculty can expect to see, and how they can expect to participate, in RUCore. This presentation will also give an overview of the technology behind RUCore and talk about current and emerging cyberinfrastructure services that the Rutgers University Libraries can offer faculty, particularly in areas such as metadata design and digital preservation and access technologies.
Speaker Bio:Grace Agnew is the Associate University Librarian for Digital Library Systems at the Rutgers University Libraries. At Rutgers, and at the Georgia Institute of Technology, she has authored and administered many grants, including the Moving Image Collections project, a portal to the world’s moving images, funded by the National Science Foundation and sponsored by the Library of Congress, and the New Jersey Digital Highway, a statewide portal to digital cultural heritage information resources. She is the author or co-author of books, articles and presentations on metadata, digital video and digital rights management and an active reviewer of cyberinfrastructure grants in many disciplines for the National Science Foundation and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
